A new station was built with Charlie Dredger in charge of its construction. The new structure was officially opened on Monday February 3, 1930. Speakers at the official opening ceremony were: W.B. Devenish, Esq., C.N.R. General Superintenden; Mayor Forster, and John Blue from the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce.
Others attending the ceremony were; sixty members of the Wainwright Board of Trade; W. Cameron, Superintendent; W. Kyle, Superintendent of Motive Power; R.H. Bell, Divisional Freight Agent; and J. A. Tully, all of Canadian National; F. Turpley, H. Budd and J. Walker of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. Mr. C.E. Phelan, Vice President of Canadian National News (later Canadian Railway News) accompanied by Mr. A. Wollta, Inspector of Restaurants, inspected the new station and it’s facilities.
Mr. W.W.Yeager retired on July 1, 1931. He had been G.T.P and C.N.R. Locomotive Foreman since 1909. Yeager had 40 years of railway service upon his retirement. The new Locomotive Foreman was Jack Lewis. On April 26, 1933, Station Agent E.J. Harper retired. He had been Agent since 1911. Mr. Harper passed away on August 30th of that year.
