June Volunteer Planting Happy Hour

The Rail Park - 1300 Noble Street
Free

Join Friends of the Rail Park for a Volunteer Planting Happy at Phase One! We will be planting a monarch and pollinator habitat kit recently granted to us from the Xerces Society.

The eastern monarch butterfly population has declined more than 80% since the 1990s. One of the most significant actions we can take to protect this iconic butterfly and other pollinators is to increase the amount of high quality, pesticide-free habitat across our landscape. The Xerces Society offers habitat kits in the Northeast containing native milkweed and various nectar plants to project partners who are willing to provide the time, labor, and land to create pollinator habitat.  Friends of the Rail Park is especially grateful for this gift.

Help us to get these plants installed as summer approaches.  Supplies and light refreshments will be provided, but we invite you to bring your own gardening tools if you so please!
